TTFN to our crew…

by Jax on September 2, 2014

Last night we said ‘hasta la vista’ to our crew, but not before Steve the expert diver volunteered (was coerced?!) into donning Adrian’s wetsuit (which I think he’s had since he was at college!) and jumping into the marina to have a quick look under the boat.

The point of this exercise was to check the hull was clean which it should be if the ultrasonic anti-fouling is being effective. For any non-sailing types reading this, if the hull is not clean it slows the boat’s movement through the water – that’s why it’s important, we’re not just being neat freaks ;-)

Happily Steve reports all is clear except for some beardy weed growth around the waterline where the hull is always exposed to sunlight. This is as expected so it looks like we don’t need to get a professional scrubbing job before we leave here in November, we can take care of it – and by ‘we’, we mean Steve ;-)

So, many thanks to ScubaSteve and we look forward to seeing him and Katherine back here in Las Palmas mid November.
