Introducing the crew

by Jax on August 23, 2014

We are very happy to have our very able crew Katherine and Steve Jones aboard for the Lagos – Las Palmas leg.

Katherine and Steve have plans for their own circumnavigation in the future, meantime they are very happy to learn from our discoveries on this trip (our mistakes as well as our successes I imagine!). They are experienced racing sailors – having done most of their racing in the inclement North West of England (rather them than me, on both counts) – which is a great combination on board as Adrian and I are classic cruisers who like to hoist the sails, set them for our destination (or as near as possible), and put the auto pilot and the kettle on.

Now we can leave the crew to trim the sails to their hearts content. All joking aside, it’s great to have them on board as they are not only extremely competent, they are easy to live with and share not only a similar mindset and outlook, but a similar sense of humour too. Hopefully they feel the same way and will sail across the Atlantic with us, and might even still be talking to us when we get to St. Lucia!

Very impressed with the boat spent some time browsing this morning after Katherine mentioned it . I have to say that the best kit you have added is the crew they top offf a very able vessel. Google luck to you all on the crossing, seems such a long time since we did it in 2008 and now so envious that yours is imminent. Just off to Liverpool for a gusty morning of racing, daydreaming of a Caribbean landfall!
