A different type of anchor

by Adrian on April 21, 2014

I have just bought a number 3 anchor.

Nothing fancy, just a plain old fishermans type for use in rocky bottoms where our excellent primary Spade anchor or Kobra kedge anchor may not work as well.

It weighs 25kg (55lbs) and is quite a chunk of metal, so will also make a good secondary anchor if I need to lay out two in heavy weather.

The nice thing is that it folds away so can be stowed deep in a bilge and dragged out only when needed.
