In all weathers…

by Jax on February 15, 2014

Maybe it’s not the right time of the year (or maybe it’s just not the right year!) for an Open-Air exhibition of photography, but if you happen to be in central London with any time to spare don’t let the elements put you off.

RNLI 1 001

Viewing this display of pictures in inclement weather only serves to highlight just what it is that the RNLI do.

Over the last two years professional photographer and volunteer lifeboat crew member Nigel Millard has visited lifeboat stations around the UK accompanying crews on shouts to capture the spirit of the RNLI culminating in some very dramatic images.

With the iconic Tower Bridge as a backdrop it really does underline the RNLI as a British institution to be proud of.

And as we keep rocking and rolling moored alongside our pontoon in the marina, I feel relieved it’s not me that’s out there.

RNLI 2 001

The exhibition is available around the clock – just like the RNLI – at More London Riverside (south side of Tower Bridge in front of City Hall) until March 10th.

The book of almost 500 photographs entitled “The Lifeboat: Courage on our Coasts”
is available to buy online.
