Popped to France to get shopping

by Adrian on September 3, 2010

Strange day, we arrived in the anchorage in Sardinia, Italy about 0945 this morning, had a rest, breakfast, picked up emails and the weather and due to good conditions decided to push on to Menorca straight away.

We were a bit low on supplies having not had the opportunity to victual in Rome, so just after lunch we left our nice little bay and sailed across the Bonifaccio strait to Bonifaccio on Corsica. We were a bit cheeky, as we moored up on a pontoon and quickly disappeared to the supermarket before anyone had noticed us. A quick trip around a decent French supermarché later and we were stocked up with freshies, French bread, cheeses, meat, gallettes and the essential couple of bouteilles du vin for Jax.

No one was at the pontoon when we returned, so we threw everything down below and cast off and made a quick exit. Mission accomplished – arrived in Italy, shopped in France. Next stop Spain in 40 hours…
